Company Profile The YCucumber (YC) mobile app is a software tailored to deal with the problems of payroll and cancellation issues within the music industry. Although last minute cancellation and getting paid on time had always been a freelancer's issue, this problem became worse and almost normalised post pandemic. YC is a peer-to-peer platform which not only enables targeted audience search for relevant services but also can be utilised as a platform to network when more users are onboard. The features of YC is adapted from the existing e-commerce and fintech softwares, tailored to the functionalities of the booking system, schedule management, credit system, push notification and cancellation/refund policies. This enables the entire booking and payment procedure to be kept on record and is expected to reduce last minute unreasonable cancellation with penalties which would apply. YC in a way, replaces the role of traditional music studios which would do the same but taking a commission cut of between 30-50% from the musician's fee to cover administrative and maintenance cost. YC is not expected to replace all traditional music studios but offers a choice instead for those who prefer more working flexibility with a much smaller chargeable fee of 2% from the total monthly credited payroll. With this initiative, I hope that YC can improve the ecosystem of the music industry.
