Established in 2000 and based in Paris, ESSEC Ventures is a venture capital firm specializing in incubation, start-ups, capital growth and angel investments.ESSEC Ventures finances start-up initiatives by ESSEC students. It consists of training programmes, an incubator, a talent incubator, a special seed fund and events bringing together entrepreneurs and investors. It aims to invest between �0.05 million and �0.1 million in its portfolio companies. ESSEC Ventures intends to acquire a seat in the portfolio companies and intends to acquire minority shares. Depending on initial requirements from the start-ups, the incubation period is usually nine months which can be reduced or stretched. ESSEC Ventures have successfully incubated 400 projects and 290 created companies.
